Walking at 6000′ at Salmon Arm Art Gallery | April 10 - June 19
Walking at 6000' Exhibition
Salmon Arm Art Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition highlighting the experience of walking in BC’s alpine and sub-alpine environment. Landscape painter Lisa Figueroa has been hiking in the alpine and documenting the changing flora for years, and will be bringing her signature vibrant paintings to the forefront of this exhibition. Phil McIntyre-Paul, Executive Director of Shuswap Trail Alliance, has decades of thoughtful trail walking experience, and is presenting audio work for visitors to get a taste of what it is to go on a walk with Phil. Together, the two approaches capture this moment in time, when many are pausing during the pandemic and exploring BC’s trails for the first time.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, April 10 with an outdoor plaza celebration between 11am and 4pm, and continues until Saturday, June 19, 2021. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm, admission is by donation. Walking at 6000’ is generously sponsored by Tech-Crete Processors Ltd. Masks are mandatory in the Art Gallery, and physical distancing measures are in place.
COVID-19 protocols in place.
