Git ‘er done gymkhana, Saturday May 4th.

Last Saturday saw us compete in our first gymkhana this year, over at Pritchard with the Git 'er done gymkhana club.

There was an excellent turnout for the event, with full Lead-line and Pee-Wee classes to start things off, followed by the Junior and Adult classes. Lily entered two horses in the junior class; Rookie and Cora, and Amanda entered Stella in the Adults.

Lily and Rookie had an excellent barrel run, with them putting in a 17.9s time; their fastest ever! Poles and stakes were less successful, but completed with a decent time at the end of the day.

Similarly, Cora's runs were also better than previous, with Lily getting mid-to-high ranged times for all events, so it looks like Lily's training with Cora is starting to pay off.

Amanda, riding Stella in training mode, trotted the barrel pattern successfully, making this her second ever barrel run. Their pole run was very good, with some tight turns around the poles, netting a decent mid-range time.

Altogether it was a busy, and largely successful event, and it even stayed dry and sunny for us. We have another gymkhana this weekend with the Git 'er done gymkhana club, so watch this space to see how our horses and riders continue to develop.
